This help has been through religious clergies, philosophers <\/em><br \/>\n<em>and even shamans have helped people to find their inner capacities to choose new aspects of the <\/em><br \/>\n<em>life. In the last century, different traditions and methods have arisen in society to contribute to such <\/em><br \/>\n<em>issues. Psychotherapy, mentoring, training; supervision, counselling and coaching are the best <\/em><br \/>\n<em>examples of advanced ways to help the human mind to be empowered and to cope difficulties and, <\/em><br \/>\n<em>achieve overall well-being and better self-development in different aspects of life work. <\/em><br \/>\n<em>Each of the above has its discipline and methodology which is essential to consider when choosing <\/em><br \/>\n<em>the appropriate option for a specific goal. <\/em><br \/>\n<em>This short assignment will try to evaluate \u201ccoaching\u201d as one of the fastest developing industries in <\/em><br \/>\n<em>the world of social skills and traditions for self and other types of development. Coaching is <\/em><br \/>\n<em>estimated to involve about two billion dollars in the USA, annually as an Executive Director at <\/em><br \/>\n<em>The University of Virginia Darden School of Business, claims in her article in Forbes (Whittaker, <\/em><br \/>\n<em>\u06f2\u06f0\u06f1\u06f7). She also refers to the surveys of the international federation of coaching to state that North <\/em><br \/>\n<em>America and Western Europe had about 36000 professional coaches at the end of 2016 which is <\/em><br \/>\n<em>considerable (Whittaker Dunlop, 2017). So, it is interesting to look more closely at the theory <\/em><br \/>\n<em>behind this desirable new career option from the last 50 years<\/em><br \/>\n<em>The purpose of coaching will be summarised, while the main differences between coaching and <\/em><br \/>\n<em>mentoring will be explored. Coaching requires certain qualities and skills, to be able to deliver <\/em><br \/>\n<em>high standards of coaching services to clients.
